It embodies an evolving vernacular farmhouse form, with exposed stone chimney ends, steep gable profiles, 12-over-12 sash and an elaborate panelled fireplace wall. Nineteenth-century farm structures, including an intact Greek Revival tenant house, add to the significance of the site.","narrative":"Set at the end of a private road off Goebel Road, on the east bank of the Dwaarkill south of the hamlet of Dwaarkill, this farm centers on a clapboard house built in stages. The earliest section dates to about 1760, and a south addition followed around 1800. Exposed stone chimney ends, a steep roof forming a porch on six square columns, and a clapboard shed protecting a bake oven mark the exterior. Inside, an elaborate panelled fireplace wall and mantel survive in the north parlor, along with wide board floors and moldings. The garret still shows eighteenth-century clapboard siding and lath with mud fill. Nineteenth-century farm buildings include an ice house, milk house, dairy barn and a Greek Revival tenant house. The Dill family lived in the Shawangunk Valley from the early eighteenth century, and the house was probably built by Robert Dill or an ancestor. It was listed as a rare surviving example of a regional vernacular house type, on about 23.9 acres.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"Architect unknown; builder: Dill family","architectural_style":"Vernacular eighteenth-century frame farmhouse (regional house type); Greek Revival tenant house","criteria":[],"status_note":"Residence in its original use; condition rated good; no threats known.
