The one-and-a-half-story stucco building is designed in the Norman style, with wall dormers holding rounded-head windows, diamond-paned sash windows, a hipped roof with rounded exposed rafters, and a three-story cylindrical tower with a balcony. A one-story entrance pavilion projects from the east facade, and heavy timber fencing with gabled stanchions flanks the driveway. In the 1920s the Pagenstecher family bought the land and built a main house on the point; that house was demolished in 1966. The gatehouse remains in use as a residence and has Norman interior appointments.
