It is of particular interest for its stone foundation and string course, triangular pediment window and period detailing. It is considered a good example of an extremely popular local style.","narrative":"Built around 1850, this two-storey brick house on Cornelia Street in Plattsburgh follows the gable-end-to-street form that was common in the city from about 1820 into the 1860s. It has a rectangular plan on a stone foundation, a stone string course, three corbeled chimneys and a slate roof. The front porch has a moulded cornice and decorative brackets, and the entrance is framed by fluted Ionic columns with stained and leaded sidelights and a transom. A projecting bay above the porch was added in the late 19th century. F. T. Miller, a Plattsburgh hardware and stove dealer, owned the property in the 1850s and is thought to have built it; later owners included William Crane in 1869. The house was recognized as a well-preserved and representative example of mid-19th century city architecture in Plattsburgh. It remains on its original site and has been used as both a residence and offices.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"Builder: probably F. T.
