Built in 1907 by Wm. Miller and Son, it is designed in a late classical revival style. The walls are buffed brick laid in running bond over a limestone foundation, beneath a flat roof. A parapet rises above a wide, boxed cornice with dentils and suspended block brackets. A broad sandstone beltcourse ties the cornice to the tops of the window lintels, and sandstone quoins frame each triple-window bay on the facade and the first bay on either side. The building was one of three safety department buildings the city constructed in 1907, and it contributes to the consistent institutional character of its surroundings, a commercial district on Warsaw Avenue with late 19th and early 20th century buildings. It remains in use as a police station and is in good condition.","period_of_significance":"1907","architect_builder":"Wm.
