W. Ransbottom House. A gabled bay window with a cornice and partial return sits on the south elevation. A brick porch replaced the original frame front porch, and the open back porch was likewise replaced with a partially enclosed brick one. One unaltered feature remains: a hip dormer with attenuated pilasters above the front porch. The house was one of four residences of brothers who owned the Robinson-Ransbottom Pottery Co., a successful maker of decorative clay objects and gardenware. It was listed together with the pottery factory and the other brothers' homes, which together show the link between the industrial works and the families who ran them.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":null,"criteria":[],"status_note":"Condition is marked excellent and altered; the original frame porch was replaced by brick and the house was veneered with brick.","vacant_flag":null,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:53:12.415208-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_OH/80003187.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/71985982","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":null},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/ohio/muskingum-county/ransbottom-frank-m-house-80003187/"}
