Its congregation dates to 1833, when the first church stood near Wesleyan Cemetery. After the second building burned in 1884, the pastor hired the firm of Hannaford & Sons to design a replacement. The new church opened in 1892, measured 60 by 95 feet and cost $34,000. It was officially dedicated on October 7, 1894. The east facade is divided by a square bell tower with a battlemented cap. The main entrance in the tower has a Gothic arch with smooth limestone voussoirs, wrought iron hinges on the doors and an art glass transom. The south facade is a large gable end with a Gothic window, and the walls are random rubble with stepped buttresses and a dateplate. The roof is gabled and slate. The church is listed as one of the works of Samuel Hannaford and sits among late nineteenth century buildings, mostly residential.","period_of_significance":"1892","architect_builder":"Samuel Hannaford & Sons (architect); builder unknown","architectural_style":"Gothic influences","criteria":[],"status_note":"Still used as a church; exterior condition good.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:53:12.119858-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_OH/80003068.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/80003068/4ebf563dc5-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/80003068/4ebf563dc5-1600.webp","licence":"Public domain","author":"Nyttend","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Northside_United_Methodist_Church_in_Cincinnati.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Nyttend</a>, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Northside_United_Methodist_Church_in_Cincinnati.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/71985374","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northside_United_Methodist_Church","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q14716762"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/ohio/hamilton-county/northside-united-methodist-church-80003068/"}
