M. Detmer. Detmer ran Warburg & Company at 208 Main Street, a firm that described itself as merchant tailors. The Eclectic building has a hip and cross-gable roof, a rock-faced ashlar foundation and stretcher-bond brick walls. Three gabled wall dormers with Flemish parapets appear on the front and side facades. A projecting pavilion beside an open brick porch carries a stepped Flemish gable with squat rounded finials and limestone stringcourses. The porch has two brick Doric columns supporting a boxed pediment, and one front window is flanked by Corinthian pilasters. Tall corbeled chimneys, a steep center hip roof and the parapets give the house a vertical emphasis. It was included as one of several works by Hannaford in Hamilton County. The house remains residential on a street of late nineteenth and early twentieth century homes.","period_of_significance":"1885","architect_builder":"Samuel Hannaford","architectural_style":"Eclectic","criteria":[],"status_note":"Listed in good exterior condition and in residential use; the surrounding street has intrusions advancing from the east.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:53:12.452925-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_OH/80003046.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/80003046/6848955e9a-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/80003046/6848955e9a-1600.webp","licence":"Public domain","author":"Nyttend","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:A.M._Detmer_House_%E2%80%94_Cincinnati.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Nyttend</a>, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:A.M._Detmer_House_%E2%80%94_Cincinnati.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/71985396","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A._M._Detmer_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q4648121"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/ohio/hamilton-county/detmer-a-m-house-80003046/"}
