First-story windows have round arches with emphasized keystones, while second-story windows are rectangular. Stone quoins mark the portico and the building corners, contrasting with the brick. Inside, the rotunda remains recognizable on the first floor despite recent alterations. The courtroom is entered from the side, and pilasters frame a bench topped by a heavy entablature and pediment. The courthouse is significant as the center of local government and a repository for official records, and as an architectural focal point for Cochran.
