It is described as a superb local example of Queen Anne architecture with some Shingle Style features. The asymmetrical building rises from a basement and first storey of rock-faced granite to a shingled frame second storey under a complex slate roof. A large three-storey octagonal tower marks the southwest corner and a smaller one the southeast corner, with an open porch and a recessed porch between them. Terra cotta tiles, varied sash, dormers and porches decorate the other elevations. Its architect is unknown. Moore's son Frank was listed as an architect living there in 1892, and a similar house shown in an 1898 Barker & Nourse catalogue suggests another possible designer. Moore had an earlier house on the lot moved westward before building this one. The property stayed in the Moore family until 1925, when the Louis Pasteur Hospital Association bought it and converted it to a hospital. It now serves as a nursing home.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"Architect unknown; possible attributions to Frank Moore (listed as an architect in the house in 1892) or Barker & Nourse","architectural_style":"Queen Anne (with Shingle Style elements)","criteria":[],"status_note":"Present use is a nursing home; unaltered except for a fire escape added to the west elevation.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:11:54.713944-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/53/7928/63792853/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_MA/80000557.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/80000557/d8ee0c1100-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/80000557/d8ee0c1100-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 3.0","author":"Pvmoutside","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Jesse_Moore_House.JPG\" rel=\"noopener\">Pvmoutside</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 3.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Jesse_Moore_House.JPG"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/63792853","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_Moore_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q14715629"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/massachusetts/worcester-county/moore-jesse-house-80000557/"}
