Dating to the 1820s or 1830s, it combines Federal and Greek Revival styling and is counted among the oldest homes in the community. The building is large and impressive but simple in detail and craftsmanship, with large twelve-over-twelve windows and an elaborate Greek Revival entryway that is partly hidden by a later porch. An Italianate porch was added on the north side in the late 1800s, possibly when the house was moved; it was relocated after Lake Erie eroded the original street. The whole house has been stuccoed. Its general shape and window openings closely resemble the Benjamin Bacon House in Brownhelm Township. Little else is known of its history. It sits on a large lot with shade trees and a small garage to the west, and at the time of the survey it was being restored as a residence.","period_of_significance":"1820's or 1830's","architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Federal-Greek Revival","criteria":[],"status_note":"Recently acquired by a new owner and in the process of being restored; exterior in fair condition, interior fair to good.
