It has a rectangular plan, a sandstone foundation, wood-frame walls covered in clapboard, and a gabled roof with asphalt shingles. Its notable features include a large ornate front entrance, a heavy entablature and small window openings. A south-side porch was added later, the front door has been boarded up, and the rear has been extended. The property is linked to Joseph Sage, who in 1818 persuaded several families from the East to move to Huntington. He and later his family owned much land near the center of the township, and Martha Sage owned this house in 1874. The nominated property includes the house and about one acre of lawn with large shade trees in front. It was listed as part of a group of historic resources along the Wellington-Huntington Road.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Greek Revival","criteria":[],"status_note":"Interior and exterior condition are listed as good; the house is used as a residence, though the front door has been boarded up and the rear extended.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:53:12.217276-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_OH/79003893.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/71985762","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":null},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/ohio/lorain-county/sage-house-79003893/"}
