The wood-frame building has clapboard siding, a gable roof, a sandstone foundation and a T-shaped plan. Its most striking features are a semielliptical fan-shaped window in the front gable and an elaborate Greek Revival front entrance. Inside, grooved woodwork with corner blocks surrounds the windows and doors. The rear section has been modernized. Local atlases from 1857 and 1874 list William Nooney as the owner, and local accounts say his descendants also lived here. The house later belonged to J.T. Haskell, a justice of the peace and later State Senator, and to Tass Phelon, a county commissioner. Its form resembles the Darlon Allen and Ansel Clark houses. Outbuildings, including an old blacksmith shop, stand to the north and west on the five-acre nominated parcel. It remains in residential use.","period_of_significance":"circa 1840","architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Greek Revival","criteria":[],"status_note":"Interior and exterior condition listed as good; the rear section has been modernized.
