It is a notable local example of Victorian Gothic design, with stained glass windows and stone trim.","narrative":"Standing at the southwest corner of Main Street and the Public Square in Fredericktown, this brick church was built in 1885-86 in the Victorian Gothic style. Philadelphia architect G.W. Bolton designed it, and Evans & Sons of Columbus constructed it at a cost of $18,000, making it the largest church in town. The Presbyterian congregation had been organized in 1808 by Rev. W. Wright and had worshipped in two earlier buildings. An old tavern on the site was moved across the street to make room. Large stained glass Gothic windows and recessed arched entrances mark the exterior, which has sandstone foundations, stone trim and a tar-coated slate gable roof. A steeple above the north entrance lost its top in 1953. Inside, the main auditorium lies in the eastern section with classrooms to the west. The church still serves its congregation and sits in a park-like setting on the edge of the square.","period_of_significance":"1885-86","architect_builder":"G.W. Bolton, Philadelphia, Pa.
