John Kerr, the original owner of the town, sold the parcel to Elias D. Delashment in 1834, and the house was built soon afterward. It is a rectangular wood-frame building with clapboard siding, a metal gable roof, a sandstone foundation, and a bay arrangement of two across the front and three on the side. A bold, massive entablature with partial returns accents the small house. Its recessed front porch rests on four square columns and shelters an elaborate entrance with side and top lites. Inside, the plan is simple, the original woodwork survives, and a winding stairway links the two floors. The house was listed as a fine, well-preserved example of Greek Revival design, notable for the recessed porch, a feature seen on only a few other Fredericktown homes. It sits at the edge of a ravine near the Kokosing River, and the front yard slopes steeply toward Edgehill Drive.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Greek Revival","criteria":[],"status_note":"Restored by its present owners, who have held it since 1943; interior and exterior condition both listed as very good, and still used as a residence.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:53:12.866171-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_OH/79003861.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/79003861/ccb8c55c3e-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/79003861/ccb8c55c3e-1600.webp","licence":"Public domain","author":"Nyttend","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Elias_Delashment_House.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Nyttend</a>, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Elias_Delashment_House.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/71985576","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q138391450"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/ohio/knox-county/delashment-elias-house-79003861/"}
