Moore, who owned a large tract and ran the Middlebrook State Premium Farm with a peach orchard, reportedly winning a prize as the best farm in New York State. Moore also helped form a county agricultural society in 1853 and served as Superintendent of the New York State Central Stockyards. The house also contributes to the historic character of the Loudon Road (Albany-Newtonville Plank Road) corridor.","narrative":"Built around 1850 at 352 Loudon Road in Loudonville, this wood-frame farmhouse was once the center of Middlebrook Farm, owned by D. D. T. Moore. Moore held a large tract south of the Hughson property and developed a showpiece farm with a peach orchard. It was called the Middlebrook State Premium Farm in 1854, and he was reportedly awarded a prize as the best farm in New York State. In 1853 he was among the officers who formed a county agricultural society, and he also served as Superintendent of the New York State Central Stockyards. The house began as a story-and-a-half building. Around 1890 to 1900 its roof was raised to create a full second story, porches were added, and the house was generally renovated. It still resembles the old lithograph of the farm. It sits on its original site, set back by a long sloping lawn with many trees and shrubs, and it is still used as a residence along the historic plank road.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Colonial style house","criteria":[],"status_note":"In residential use and in good condition; the form lists zoning, road and developer pressures as threats.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:50:39.735647-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_NY/79003244.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/75311963","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D._D._T._Moore_Farmhouse","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q5203556"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/new-york/albany-county/d-d-t-moore-farmhouse-79003244/"}
