Kent, who owned 120 acres in 1856 and 99 acres by 1874, and who may have been the John Kent who came to Bath about 1820.","narrative":"This one-and-a-half-story house at 1727 Medina Line Road in Bath Township, Summit County, Ohio, dates to about 1825 and reflects the Greek Revival style. It has a rectangular plan, post-and-beam construction, clapboard siding, a stone foundation and a shingled gable roof. The five-bay front has narrowly spaced six-over-six windows, a blind attic and a central entrance with a projecting architrave and Doric pilasters. A screened side porch and a rear kitchen wing were added later. The house sits well back from the road behind several large trees, with a well-maintained barn next door. Historic records name J. Kent as owner of 120 acres in 1856, reduced to 99 acres by 1874, and he may have been the John Kent who arrived in Bath around 1820. The survey judged the house a good example of the earlier form of Greek Revival architecture. It remains in residential use, with its interior in good condition and its exterior in very good condition.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Greek Revival","criteria":[],"status_note":"Interior in good condition and exterior in very good condition; used as a residence.
