It is a wood frame building on a coursed stone block foundation, with vertical siding, a metal gable roof and a rectangular plan. The center section rises two and a half stories and has square windows near the eaves and a rectangular window in the gable. Sliding barn doors open on the east and west sides. A two-story shed-roofed section extends the west side, and one-story sections at the north and south ends were used for machinery. Many lightning rods line the rooflines. The barn was listed as an excellent example of an early farmstead structure. It is typical of Washington Township, which has always been rural, and it remains in good interior and excellent exterior condition, visible from the public road about 100 feet away.","period_of_significance":"ca. 1880's (late)","architect_builder":"Rings, Louis (builder)","architectural_style":"Coursed stone block foundation with wood frame walls; no named style stated","criteria":[],"status_note":"Interior condition good, exterior excellent; the form lists the present use as a house.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:53:12.49748-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_OH/79002769.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/71985040","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":null},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/ohio/franklin-county/rings-louis-barn-1-79002769/"}
