It was originally an opera house and meeting hall. The I.O.O.F. Lodge helped finance construction and kept its headquarters on the upper floor, which the Rebekah Sisters also used. The lower floor hosted touring opera companies, medicine shows and school activities. The building has clapboard siding, a sandstone foundation and a gable roof of seamed metal. Its style is transitional between Greek Revival and Italianate, with six-over-six rectangular windows and a small peaked window in the front gable. The main entrance has been altered. Inside, two large rooms occupy the floors: a meeting room with a stage on the first floor, with columns in the middle, and a similar room above reached by a stair at the front. It remains a community center, and local residents have worked to restore it.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Greek Revival - Italianate","criteria":[],"status_note":"Used as an opera house and community center; exterior in good condition, interior fair.
