It was home to the Bartlett and Doble Dry Goods Store in 1870. It is also part of a good collection of Greek Revival structures in the village.","narrative":"Standing at the main intersection of Chesterville, Ohio, this two-story wood-frame building dates from about 1850 and has served as a store. It rests on a sandstone foundation, has clapboard siding and a gable roof, and follows an L-shaped plan. Upper-story rectangular windows and an entablature reflect its Greek Revival styling. Over the years the building was altered: large plate glass windows were probably added to the first floor of the front, a one-story wing was built on the south side, and the interior was remodeled. In 1870 it housed the Bartlett and Doble Dry Goods Store. The building once projected farther toward the intersection, but half of it was detached and moved east of town, where it now serves as a residence. It sits on a small lot near other commercial buildings, with the post office to the east. It was listed as one of Chesterville's best preserved Greek Revival commercial buildings.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Greek Revival","criteria":[],"status_note":"Used as a store; exterior and interior condition both listed as good.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:53:12.202564-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_OH/79002748.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/79002748/5cc1583afc-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/79002748/5cc1583afc-1600.webp","licence":"Public domain","author":"Nyttend","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Old_Bartlett_and_Goble_Store.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Nyttend</a>, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Old_Bartlett_and_Goble_Store.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/71985953","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q138638688"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/ohio/morrow-county/old-bartlett-and-goble-store-79002748/"}
