It was included in a multiple-property survey of Washington Township historic resources. The form offers little further argument for significance.","narrative":"This two-story brick house at 5381 Brand Road in Washington Township, near Dublin, Ohio, dates to about 1870 and reflects early Victorian design. It was built by an early settler in the area and has long served as a dwelling, later known as the Frank Bower Farm. The walls are common brick on a coursed limestone foundation, under a hip roof of tin. The front has five bays and the sides four. Sandstone sills and lintels, triangular pediments over the front windows, brackets beneath the sills, six-over-six windows and a dentilled cornice give the facade its character. An original arcaded porch survives. Inside, a spiral stairway of cherry and walnut remains, though walls, fireplaces and floors have been altered and interior shutters removed. A wood house, smoke house and summer kitchen stand behind the brick portion. The setting is mostly rural with some nearby development, and the property is described as well maintained. It was listed as a representative early Victorian farmhouse of the township.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"Built by an early settler in the area (name not given in the form)","architectural_style":"Victorian / early","criteria":[],"status_note":"Used as a dwelling; exterior and interior condition recorded as good, nicely maintained and painted, with repair underway.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:53:12.937474-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_OH/79002740.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/79002740/3935a0b775-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/79002740/3935a0b775-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 3.0","author":"Wdzinc","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Asher_Brand_Residence.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Wdzinc</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 3.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Asher_Brand_Residence.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/71985105","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asher_Brand_Residence","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q54958245"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/ohio/franklin-county/brand-asher-residence-79002740/"}
