Its two-bay facade features a one-story porch with four fluted Doric columns and a wide entablature with small dentils. The original walls use horizontal siding cut to resemble rusticated stone, a treatment not repeated elsewhere in Oxford. Inside, a stairway with a curving hand rail rises in three sections. A large rear addition was built before 1868. Greek Revival buildings are rare in Oxford, where only three exemplify the style: the Seminary Presbyterian Church of 1838, this house, and the Langstroth Cottage of about 1856. Maltby, born in New York in 1806, moved to Oxford in 1848 and served as pastor of the First and Third Presbyterian Church until 1856. He helped found the Oxford Female Institute. The house, long a family home, was recently converted into apartments.","period_of_significance":"1800-1899","architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Greek Revival","criteria":[],"status_note":"Recently converted into apartments; the form lists its condition as occupied private ownership.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:53:12.24383-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_OH/79001789.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/79001789/26bebbfb9b-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/79001789/26bebbfb9b-1600.webp","licence":"Public domain","author":"Nyttend","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Delta_Zeta_headquarters_and_museum.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Nyttend</a>, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Delta_Zeta_headquarters_and_museum.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/71986951","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Maltby_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q14716444"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/ohio/butler-county/maltby-henry-house-79001789/"}
