The older western section has a steeper roof and doors in its southern and western walls, while the eastern section has doors front and back. Its interior includes a square-edged panelled partition that was restored to its original place at the line of the common wall. The Quaker meeting was organized in 1684, first meeting in John Jerman's home, and the Jerman family transferred the land to the Society of Friends in 1735. The building is probably the oldest in Radnor Township and was its community centre through the eighteenth and much of the nineteenth century. In 1778 it served as a hospital and officers' headquarters for the Continental Army. It closed in 1882, reopened in 1937, and remains in use for Quaker worship. The adjacent cemetery is intact.","period_of_significance":"1700-1799","architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":null,"criteria":[],"status_note":"Reactivated in 1937 and used for Quaker meeting.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-haiku-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.1-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 17:11:28.862252-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_PA/78002393.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/78002393/7d272e937a-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/78002393/7d272e937a-1600.webp","licence":"Public domain","author":"User:Smallbones on English Wikipedia.","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:RadnorFriendsMeetinghouse.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">User:Smallbones on English Wikipedia.</a>, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:RadnorFriendsMeetinghouse.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/71995946","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radnor_Friends_Meetinghouse","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q7281479"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/pennsylvania/delaware-county/radnor-friends-meetinghouse-78002393/"}
