Paul Revere stopped here on the night of April 18-19, 1775, to alert Isaac Hall, captain of the Medford Minutemen.","narrative":"Standing at the corner of High Street and Bradlee Road near Medford Square, this three-story house was built around 1720 by Andrew Hall, a local landholder and developer, around the time of his marriage. It was the first of five houses he and his sons built side by side, and it is the only one still standing. The house was heavily altered in the 1780s or 1790s, giving it a symmetrical five-bay front, hip roof and pedimented entrance. Its best-known association is with the night of April 18-19, 1775, when Paul Revere stopped here to alert Isaac Hall, captain of the Medford Minutemen, who then led his company to Lexington. Hall later raised a new company that went to Dorchester Heights in 1776. Aluminum siding and a modern addition now cover parts of the building, but the original fabric remains. It has served as a funeral home since 1913. A plaque beside the sidewalk commemorates Revere's stop.","period_of_significance":"1700-1799 (specific date c. 1720)","architect_builder":"Andrew Hall (builder)","architectural_style":"Federal","criteria":[],"status_note":"Listed as occupied and in good condition; in use as a funeral home, covered in aluminum siding with a modern commercial addition.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:11:53.905761-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/63/7959/63795963/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_MA/75000275.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/75000275/a7a370c56e-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/75000275/a7a370c56e-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY 2.0","author":"BPL","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Isaac_Hall_House_(Medford,_Massachusetts).jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">BPL</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY 2.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Isaac_Hall_House_(Medford,_Massachusetts).jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/63795963","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_Hall_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q14715616"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/massachusetts/middlesex-county/hall-isaac-house-75000275/"}
