It is also one of only 11 Town Lattice trusses remaining in Ohio. The form notes the bridge changed little apart from a later center pier.","narrative":"Spanning the east branch of Wolfe Creek about four miles east of Burgoon, this two-span wooden covered bridge was built in 1851 and named for Amos Mull, who lived nearby. It uses the Town Lattice truss, patented in 1820 by Ithiel Town, in which crisscrossed planks form overlapping triangles pinned together with oak trunnels. The bridge measures 110 feet overall with a 97-foot clear span, a 14-foot roadway and 12-foot clearance. It has vertical high-boarded siding, a sheet metal roof, straight portals and stone abutments, while a concrete center pier is a later addition. It is among the oldest covered bridges in Ohio, one of only three covered spans in the northwest quarter of the state, and one of only 11 Town Lattice trusses left in Ohio. A new county bridge bypassed it in 1962, and the county gave the Sandusky County Historical Society the right to maintain it as a memento of the past.","period_of_significance":"19th Century (1851)","architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Town Lattice truss","criteria":[],"status_note":"Bypassed by a new county bridge in 1962 and closed to vehicles; maintained by the county historical society for historical purposes.
