It also has a link to Nathaniel Wilson III, who deeded land nearby in 1817 for a presidential burial ground, the separate Stonewall Cemetery.","narrative":"Willow Lane Farm is a two-story frame farmhouse built in 1838 by Nathaniel Wilson III along the old Zanesville-Maysville Pike, now Route 22, west of Lancaster, Ohio. Its Greek Revival design includes a hipped roof, a five-bay front, a center dormer, and six broad pilasters supporting a deep entablature. The center doorway has a one-story porch that reconstructs the original, removed about 1900. Inside is a typical center-hall plan with some alterations. The house sits among farmland at the end of a long lane lined with weeping willows, and the original barn stands about 250 feet northeast. Wilson is also linked to nearby Stonewall Cemetery, a twelve-sided walled plot built in 1838 and 1839 on land he deeded in 1817 as a possible burial ground for President James Monroe. The cemetery is not part of this property. The house was recognized as a fine example of Greek Revival farmhouse architecture and has had only two owning families.","period_of_significance":"19th Century (specific date 1838)","architect_builder":"Nathaniel Wilson III (built the house)","architectural_style":"Greek Revival","criteria":[],"status_note":"Described as standing in excellent condition and occupied as a private residence; some interior alteration and a reconstructed porch noted.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:53:09.964524-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_OH/72001009.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/72001009/4ed53e1423-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/72001009/4ed53e1423-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 4.0","author":"Jud McCranie","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Willow_Lane_Farm,_Fairfield_County,_OH,_US.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Jud McCranie</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 4.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Willow_Lane_Farm,_Fairfield_County,_OH,_US.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/71988197","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q137796302"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/ohio/fairfield-county/willow-lane-farm-72001009/"}
