Its exterior has changed little, and it retains nearly all original fixtures and construction. With the nearby Clifford Anderson Home, built about the same time, it is called outstanding in the High Street historic district.","narrative":"Built in 1859 at 618 Orange Street in Macon, this frame house with Italianate detailing was among the first in its block. Dr. Fitzgerald built it on a large lot as the city's residential area moved up \"the Hill\" from the level business district. Exterior features include a carved porch rail and posts, a broad roof overhang with ornamental brackets, clapboard siding, decorative brick chimneys and a domed cupola reached by an elliptical stair. Inside, a center hall plan holds ornate cornice moldings, large ceiling medallions and carved white marble mantels in the front rooms. Nearly every original fixture survives; only a side bay window and the original front steps are gone. Later owners included Mrs. Benjamin Snyder and W.P. Goodall, who married Julia Boone. The house stands near the Clifford Anderson Home, built about the same time, and is noted as outstanding in the High Street historic district.","period_of_significance":"1859","architect_builder":"Built by Dr. Fitzgerald (no architect named)","architectural_style":"Italianate detailing","criteria":[],"status_note":"Condition listed as fair; the house is occupied as a residence by a descendant of the Goodall family, with an original clapboard servants house at the rear in good condition.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:55:41.313067-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_GA/71000255.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":{"nrhp_refnum":"74000658","name":"Macon Historic District","url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/districts/georgia/macon-historic-district-74000658/"},"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/93207021","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goodall_House_(Macon,_Georgia)","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q5583175"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/georgia/bibb-county/goodall-house-71000255/"}
