Wright.","why_significant":"The nomination calls it an ante-bellum cottage of rare distinction with excellent Greek Revival detailing and well-preserved period interiors. It is also tied to Arthur P. Wright, later an alderman, banker and mayor in 1861, and it hosted early meetings of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. The form describes it as one of the finest houses in Thomasville.","narrative":"Built in 1854 at 415 Fletcher Street in Thomasville, this one-story frame cottage under a hipped roof was the home of Arthur P. Wright, who later served as an alderman and banker and was the city's mayor in 1861. A recessed entry porch spans the front, supported by six square panelled columns with carved insets. The entrance and windows are framed in Greek Revival mouldings capped by dentils, and the panelled double door has sidelights, a fixed transom and finely detailed glass. The door frame carries carved rosettes. The front facade is flush siding treated to resemble stone, while the rest is clapboard. Later wings are largely hidden from view. Inside, the older section keeps its original mantels, wainscoting and door and window frames. Early meetings of St. Thomas Episcopal Church were held here, and the house stayed with Wright's descendants until recently. It has since been fully restored and is regarded as one of Thomasville's finest houses.","period_of_significance":"19th Century (specific date 1854)","architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Greek Revival (ante-bellum cottage)","criteria":[],"status_note":"Described as recently completely restored and in excellent condition; occupied private residence, with later wings added that are mostly hidden from view.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:55:40.417574-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_GA/70000225.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/70000225/98de054498-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/70000225/98de054498-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 3.0","author":"Thomasville Visitors Center","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wright_frt_dawn.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Thomasville Visitors Center</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 3.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wright_frt_dawn.jpg"},"district":{"nrhp_refnum":"85000861","name":"Fletcherville Historic District","url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/districts/georgia/fletcherville-historic-district-85000861/"},"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/93209685","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wright_House_(Thomasville,_Georgia)","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q30603856"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/georgia/thomas-county/wright-house-70000225/"}
