Page Street in Morrisville, Wake County, North Carolina, begun around 1830 and remodeled around 1876, standing on a three-acre parcel with several later outbuildings.","why_significant":"The nomination finds the house architecturally significant to Wake County under Criterion C. It is the most intact of a small group of Morrisville houses with elaborate, locally produced millwork, most notably on its jigsawn front porch. The period of significance is ca. 1876, when the house reached its current appearance.","narrative":"Set on a three-acre parcel at the end of South Page Street in Morrisville, this house began around 1830 as a small hall-and-parlor dwelling. Around 1876 it was raised to two stories and became a side-gabled I-house with a central hall, a transverse stair hall, and a two-story rear ell that may predate the remodeling. Its walls are plain weatherboard with half-round corner boards, six-over-six windows, and double-shouldered brick chimneys, but the one-story hipped porch is far more decorative, with jigsawn spandrels, serpentine scrolls and a flat sawn balustrade. Interior mantels are late Greek Revival in style. The house was listed for its architecture because it is the most intact example in Morrisville of elaborate, locally made millwork applied to a vernacular farmhouse. Family tradition links it to Williamson Page, a prosperous farmer, and to the Civil War period. Several 1960s and 1970s outbuildings stand nearby.","period_of_significance":"ca. 1876","architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Greek Revival","criteria":["C"],"status_note":"Listed in current functions as single dwelling and secondary structure, with a 'VACANT/not in use' entry also recorded.","vacant_flag":null,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:57:53.72424-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/67/7224/47722467/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_NC/12000218.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/12000218/c4d78517b2-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/12000218/c4d78517b2-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 3.0","author":"sw23","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Williamson_Page_House_2013-09-21_17-58-55.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">sw23</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 3.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Williamson_Page_House_2013-09-21_17-58-55.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/47722467","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Williamson_Page_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q24436303"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/north-carolina/wake-county/page-williamson-house-12000218/"}
