Jenkins and J.G. Crockett of Anjaco Holding Corporation.","why_significant":"The building is argued to be significant under Criterion A as an excellent example of a 1929 Atlanta apartment built during a period of changing residential patterns and rapid apartment construction. Under Criterion C, it is an intact example of an early 20th-century Mediterranean Revival apartment building, retaining its exterior features and historic interior finishes.","narrative":"Built in 1929 on Collier Road in Atlanta's Buckhead area, this three-story brick apartment building follows the Mediterranean Revival style. It has a flat roof hidden behind low terra-cotta tile parapets, two stucco-covered entry bays that rise like towers, and six-over-one windows set in groups. It sits on land once owned by the Collier family, early Atlanta settlers whose heirs subdivided their Peachtree Road holdings in the mid-1920s. Developers J.W. Jenkins and J.G. Crockett built the 14-unit building, and its tenants were generally middle- to upper-middle-class couples, professionals, retirees and widows. Its original apartment layouts remain, along with wood floors, trim, staircases and entrance foyers. The building was listed for its architecture and for what it shows about apartment construction in 1920s Atlanta, when growing populations, streetcar lines and automobiles pushed apartments north along Peachtree Road. It has since been rehabilitated into condominiums.","period_of_significance":"1929","architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Late 19th and 20th Century Revivals: Mediterranean Revival","criteria":["A","C"],"status_note":"Historic and current use is multiple dwelling; the building was recently rehabilitated into condominiums.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:55:42.809137-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_GA/07000938.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/07000938/ece9d550d4-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/07000938/ece9d550d4-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 4.0","author":"Bama in ATL","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Apartments_at_22%E2%80%9324_Collier_Road.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Bama in ATL</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 4.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Apartments_at_22%E2%80%9324_Collier_Road.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/93208060","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apartments_at_22%E2%80%9324_Collier_Road","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q4779189"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/georgia/fulton-county/apartments-at-22-24-collier-road-07000938/"}
