It is one of the few remaining residences of the neighborhood's nineteenth-century community and one of the very few large houses built there before annexation by Columbus in 1910.","narrative":"Set on a 60-by-118-foot lot in Columbus's Clintonville neighborhood, this 2½-story frame house at 75 East Lakeview Avenue was built probably between 1880 and 1885 for Truman and Sylvia Bull Coe. Sylvia was a granddaughter of Thomas Bull, who bought a large tract of Clinton Township land in 1814. The house has a hipped roof with intersecting gables, slate fishscale shingles, metal ridge cresting, shiplap siding, a sunburst motif in the west gable and a wraparound porch with turned supports. Inside, high ceilings, pocket doors, floral corner blocks and stained original woodwork survive on the first floor. The house was divided into apartments and clad in asbestos shingles in the twentieth century. Later owners removed the shingles and rebuilt the porch from original parts. A carriage house behind it is considered non-contributing because of additions. The house is valued as a rare Queen Anne-Eastlake example in a neighborhood now dominated by 1920s and 1930s housing.","period_of_significance":"1880-1885","architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Late Victorian; Queen Anne-Eastlake","criteria":["C"],"status_note":"Described as in very good condition and in use as a single dwelling; it was divided into apartments in the early to mid-twentieth century and later restored by its owners.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:52:07.270025-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_OH/06000361.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/06000361/426818b82e-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/06000361/426818b82e-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 3.0","author":"Wdzinc","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Columbus_ohio_coe_house.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Wdzinc</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 3.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Columbus_ohio_coe_house.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/71988380","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truman_and_Sylvia_Bull_Coe_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q104881533"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/ohio/franklin-county/coe-truman-and-sylvia-bull-house-06000361/"}
