It is also tied to the Parker family, one of the town's founding families. The surviving barns show the local shift from grain and field crops to dairying and livestock in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.","narrative":"Arcade Center Farm is a 58.94-acre farmstead on Route 98 just northeast of the village of Arcade, in Wyoming County, New York. Its centerpiece is a wood-frame Greek Revival farmhouse built around 1835-1840, with a 1 1/2-story gable-front main block, lower wings, broad cornices with returns, and a side-hall entrance with sidelights and a transom. Inside, original woodwork survives, including shouldered door and window surrounds and two-panel doors. Two gambrel-roofed barns with heavy-timber frames, plus a sugarhouse and small later buildings, complete the complex. The land was bought from the Holland Land Company in 1825 by Horace Parker, son of early town supervisor Silas Parker, and stayed in the family until 1895. By about 1900 it operated as a dairy and stock farm. The property was listed for its rare, well-preserved Greek Revival farmhouse and for buildings that reflect the area's move toward dairy farming after the Civil War.","period_of_significance":"ca 1835-ca 1900","architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Mid-19th Century / Greek Revival","criteria":["C"],"status_note":"Still used as a single dwelling with agricultural functions; the farmhouse siding of asbestos shingle over original clapboard is described as deteriorating.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:51:53.962812-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_NY/04000290.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/75323324","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arcade_Center_Farm","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q4785070"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/new-york/wyoming-county/arcade-center-farm-04000290/"}
