It reflects the town's farming settlement from the 17th century through the 20th century, and the form notes high potential for Native American and historic archaeological resources.","narrative":"Parker Village, also called Parkerville, is a farming neighborhood in Westford, Massachusetts, spread across about 33 acres of hay fields, woods and residential yards along Concord and Carlisle Roads. Settled in part by members of the Parker family from Chelmsford, it contains nine historic houses, two former schoolhouses, a Colonial-era burial ground, a small fieldstone bridge over Nonset Brook, a granite signpost and long fieldstone walls. The oldest building is the brick Federal-style schoolhouse of about 1787, later used as a residence. The 1880 second schoolhouse now operates as a museum where local third graders experience an early 20th-century classroom. Most farmhouses date from about 1850 to 1870 and show Victorian Eclectic styling, some with later additions or vinyl siding. Several barns have been lost to age, fire and hurricanes, and newer houses have been added since 1950. The district is notable for keeping its open agricultural landscape and historic character, and for its archaeological potential.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Federal, Victorian Eclectic, Colonial Revival, Bungalow, Cape Cod","criteria":[],"status_note":"Most buildings are described as well maintained; the 1880 Schoolhouse #2 was restored as a museum in the mid 1990s and is in excellent condition. Nearly all farming has ceased, though hay baling continues.","vacant_flag":null,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:13:03.717036-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/32/7955/63795532/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_MA/02001613.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/02001613/fb146cd152-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/02001613/fb146cd152-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY 3.0","author":"John Phelan","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Parkerville_Schoolhouse_1880,_Parker_Village,_MA.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">John Phelan</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY 3.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Parkerville_Schoolhouse_1880,_Parker_Village,_MA.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/63795532","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parker_Village_Historic_District","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q7138393"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/massachusetts/middlesex-county/parker-village-historic-district-02001613/"}
