The surviving barn, milk shed, chicken coop, machine shed and cultivated fields also show the region's agricultural heritage.","narrative":"On the northwest corner of Bradley and Johnson Creek Roads in rural Hartland, this 31.1-acre farm includes a two-story cobblestone farmhouse built in 1836 and four historic farm buildings: a frame barn, a milk shed, a chicken coop and a machine shed. The house is built of variously colored field cobbles laid in horizontal rows, with Medina sandstone quoins at the corners and stone lintels and sills around the openings. These traits are typical of early cobblestone buildings in New York. Later changes, including replaced windows, an enclosed front porch, a small rear wing and a brick chimney, did not undermine the cobblestone features. Amzi Bradley, a Connecticut native, bought the land in 1836, and the farm stayed in the family through at least 1874. The property was listed for its architecture and for its largely intact farm setting, which still reflects the agricultural heritage of the area. It is one of nine surveyed cobblestone buildings in Hartland.","period_of_significance":"1836 - ca. 1900","architect_builder":"unknown","architectural_style":"Mid-19th Century: Greek Revival (cobblestone construction)","criteria":["A","C"],"status_note":"Still used as a single dwelling; the farm remains mostly cultivated.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:51:52.810763-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_NY/02001332.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/02001332/6bbd2b34ef-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/02001332/6bbd2b34ef-1600.webp","licence":"Public domain","author":"Pubdog (talk)","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Amzi_Bradley_Farmstead_Jun_09.JPG\" rel=\"noopener\">Pubdog (talk)</a>, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Amzi_Bradley_Farmstead_Jun_09.JPG"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/75313975","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amzi_Bradley_Farmstead","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q4749589"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/new-york/niagara-county/bradley-amzi-farmstead-02001332/"}
