The farm was established by the Hubbell family in the mid-nineteenth century, and the cemetery was founded in 1886.","why_significant":"The nomination argues that the farm documents nearly all aspects of a Catskills family farm and related businesses through more than twenty intact buildings and structures, stone walls, fields and archival records. It also notes the Ulster and Delaware Railroad tracks, which link the property to the growth of Catskills tourism and dairying. The cemetery holds all the Hubbell family burials and also serves as a community burial ground.","narrative":"Along NY 30 in Kelly's Corners, north of Margaretville, a 276-acre farm climbs from the East Branch of the Delaware River to a ridge about 1,800 feet high. Milo Hubbell bought the land in 1850, and his descendants developed it into a mixed farm with a sawmill, cider mill, dairy barn, blacksmith shop, carriage house, residences, and a hardware and machine business. Stone walls, cattle passes, fields, orchards and forested areas mark how the land was used over time. Ulster and Delaware Railroad tracks run through the property. A 1960s road relocation moved the highway west and destroyed one earlier cluster of Hubbell buildings. South of the farm, a terraced cemetery of one and one-half acres was established in 1886 by Elder J.D. Hubbell. It holds every Hubbell family member tied to the farm and serves neighbors as well. The district includes 25 contributing resources, and family records, diaries and photographs survive to support its interpretation.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"No style","criteria":[],"status_note":"The farm is described as an active and viable enterprise today; the cemetery has been run by an association of Hubbell family members since the 1930s or earlier.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:51:51.423987-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_NY/01000892.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/01000892/618f2aa62e-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/01000892/618f2aa62e-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 4.0","author":"RBHubbell","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Hubbell_Family_Farm_Cider_and_Saw_Mill_Building.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">RBHubbell</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 4.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Hubbell_Family_Farm_Cider_and_Saw_Mill_Building.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/75317233","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubbell_Family_Farm_and_Kelly%27s_Corners_Cemetery","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q5926947"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/new-york/delaware-county/hubbell-family-farm-and-kellys-corners-cemetery-01000892/"}
