The 1837 Greek Revival house is an outstanding regional example of the style, and the 1878 ramp-type hay barn is one of the largest surviving outbuildings of its period in the region. The complex is also tied to agriculture and to the Blaisdell family's long presence in Coeymans.","narrative":"Set on the south side of Westerlo Street in Coeymans, this farm complex includes eight acres, seven contributing buildings and two modern workshops. The centerpiece is a two-and-a-half-story brick house begun in 1837 by Fletcher Blaisdell on land from his father, Levi. It is a Greek Revival design with a pedimented gable, a broad brick frieze, scroll-sawn brackets and a Doric-columned entrance bearing a date plaque reading \"F.B. 1837.\" An 1850s Picturesque wing and rose arbor were added later. Behind the house stands a 100-by-60-foot hay barn of 1878, built under Levi Blaisdell's son and reached by an earth ramp and timber bridge. Other survivors include a brick smokehouse, a corn crib, a small barn, chicken coops and a tenant house from about 1830, the first structure on the farm. Together they illustrate the architecture of a nineteenth-century Hudson Valley farm and its shift from grain to dairy, and they remain landmarks in Coeymans.","period_of_significance":"1837-ca.1920","architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Mid-19th Century/Greek Revival","criteria":["A","C"],"status_note":"Historic and current functions are listed as single dwelling and agricultural storage; the house retains a high degree of interior integrity.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:51:50.040808-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_NY/01000246.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":{"nrhp_refnum":"100001767","name":"Coeymans Landing Historic District","url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/districts/new-york/coeymans-landing-historic-district-100001767/"},"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/75316177","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fletcher_Blaisdell_Farm_Complex","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q5458765"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/new-york/albany-county/blaisdell-fletcher-farm-complex-01000246/"}
