It keeps a high level of integrity and an unusual amount of detail for a modest-scale house. City surveys rated it of major architectural significance, and Sacramento lists it as a priority structure.","narrative":"Built around 1890 and moved to 922-924 T Street in Sacramento by 1914, this two-and-a-half-story duplex is a modest Victorian house with an unusual amount of decoration. Its redwood shiplap siding, teardrop shingles, ornamental eave brackets, arched window trims and Eastlake sunburst and flower motifs combine Italianate and Eastlake design. Inside, rooms open directly into one another without hallways, with tall ceilings, original light fixtures, plaster medallions and Douglas fir floors. Mary Haley owned the lot in 1913 and became Mary Haley Galarneaux in 1915, when she, her husband and his son appear in local records. The house later declined, was surveyed in 1977 as having major architectural significance, and by 1997 was nearly condemned. It has since been rehabilitated. It was listed for its architecture as a well-preserved example of late nineteenth century residential building in Sacramento, and the city protects it as a priority structure.","period_of_significance":"1890-1915 (revised by the Keeper from the 1890 stated on the form)","architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Late Victorian (Italianate with Eastlake elements)","criteria":["C"],"status_note":"Rehabilitated after being listed as dilapidated and endangered in 1997; a condemned rear addition was removed, and some porch elements were still to be re-fabricated.","vacant_flag":null,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:54:27.781968-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_CA/01000077.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/01000077/d775fe198d-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/01000077/d775fe198d-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 3.0","author":"Oscarmostofi","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mary_Haley_Galarneaux_House.JPG\" rel=\"noopener\">Oscarmostofi</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 3.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mary_Haley_Galarneaux_House.JPG"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/123860592","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Haley_Galarneaux_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q126009547"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/california/sacramento-county/galarneaux-mary-haley-house-01000077/"}
